How Otto Build works

Otto Build looks at your server and suggests what to tidy and fix. You see every suggestion first, tick the ones you want, and only those happen. A full backup comes first, so Undo puts everything back.

Improve your server

• Go to My servers → your server → Otto Build → Improve my server.
• Build checks channels, ranks, permissions and server settings: quiet channels, loose channels without a category, empty ranks, staff ranks with too much or too little, who can ping @everyone.
• Tick what you want and press Apply. Things Build cannot do itself are listed under For you to do in Discord.

Your old channels: 📦 Old server

When Otto Build sets up your server, channels that fit the new design are reused, so their messages stay. When you order, you choose what happens to the rest:

• Keep them under 📦 Old server (the default): one category at the bottom that only your staff can see. Drag out what you want to keep. When you are ready, press Remove old stuff on your build page. Changed your mind? Put it back brings the channels and ranks back with their permissions, but the old messages cannot come back.
• Remove them: a clean start. The layout is in a backup; the messages are gone for good.
• Leave them where they are: nothing is moved or removed.

Undo a change

Every run is under History. Undo puts that run back exactly as it was, from the backup taken just before.

Order a new server

Answer a few questions about your community. Otto Build designs a complete server from that, a person checks it, and you see the design before anything is built. Your old server gets a backup first.

Things Build never does

• Delete a channel that has messages.
• Delete admin ranks.
• Touch channels or ranks on your leave alone list.
• Anything you did not tick.
